You’ll discover that the Green Lettuce Restaurant is very unique and special in the city of Vancouver. Located in Vancouver East, the exterior of the restaurant can be deceiving and unappealing, but once you step inside you will notice that it’s a medium sized restaurant decorated with an oriental flare.

You will find a large variety of Asian/oriental dishes with the touch of East Indian spices and influences make this restaurant one of a kind. The owners lived and cooked in Bombay, India so be prepared to be taken to an Asian adventure, as this combination of cuisine and spices will get your mouth watering. If you love spicy they will happily adjust to your taste buds to ensure a mouth-watering experience.

To start off the dining experience, we started off with a simple vegetable hot and sour soup to warm up after Vancouver’s cold raining evening. Mongolian lamb and Gobi Manchurian (crispy cauliflower) are the popular dishes to try as your mains. These dishes are rich that plain steamed rice is a perfect compliment. But we decided to order the vegetable cashew nut fried rice to try other popular dishes.

The menu is diverse with spices and styles that cater both to the carnivores and vegetarians with entrees ranging from $10 - $16. No two dishes are alike. You may want to visit again to try the other entrees especially since it can be difficult to decide on which ones to start first.

There can be line-ups in the evenings as this restaurant also caters to large families of both East Indians and Asians. Another alternative that a good number of people do is take out as this place can be busy. Call ahead and place your order rather than wait.

As a suggestion, it may be an awesome idea to do take out. You can enjoy a quiet date night at home especially on a cold night with lit candles and music while spending time with that special someone.
