Newly renovated ristorante formerly located near Feenies and Lumiere, attracts those who enjoy great dining in the South Granville area. Italian is their specialty and no detail is missed when it comes to aromatic flavors, presentation and décor with orange-red accents.
Small and quaint place perfect for a table for two or a small gathering of great friends catching up on new gossip. Best time to be there is before 7 – 7:30pm otherwise you could expect to wait in line especially on a Friday night.
They have a wine list to compliment the favors of the meals ranging from your traditional insalates, antipasti (appetizers), pasta and meat dishes. Pastas and deserts made fresh daily. With a number of choices to choose from, you may want to order all of them.
We had the special soup of the day, cream of asparagus that was rich and creamy and not salty followed by Insalata Mista (fresh organic seasonal greens with vinaigrette dressing) and the Calamari Pizzaiola (sliced squids sautéed in tomato sauce, capers, olives, garlic, fresh herbs). For the main course we enjoyed the Scaloppini Di Pollo Con Carciofini (free range specialty chicken - thin slices of breast sautéed with butter, artichoke hearts, mushrooms, white wine served with fresh vegetables) and Filetto Di Rombo Alla Livornese (fresh halibut filet lightly sautéed and drizzle with chardonnay, fresh diced Roma tomatoes, capers, garlic, fresh herbs, served with fresh vegetables). Ended our meals on a sweet note with homemade lemon tart (little on the tart side if you like it like that) and tiramisu.
Have food allergies? Let them know before you order and the chefs will be able to accommodate your needs.
As great the food is, be aware for the weakness in service, as some of the servers are inexperienced. If you plan to meet a group there, expect to have everything on one bill, as they do not have a system where they can cater to individual billing needs as of Dec 2006. If time and waiting is a concern, request your bill early as arrives in its own timely manner. But if you are enjoying the company of a great date, perhaps it won’t matter when the bill comes. You may just order more wine.
