For a light afternoon or after dinner treat, be sure to come out to Capstone café. This small and intimate café brings their concept of simple sweet delights to anyone who comes through their door.
Just located across the Empire Landmark Hotel
(known to be the tallest “hotel” in Vancouver as most are combined with residences so it is not considered completely a hotel), this local café attracts a lot of couples for a romantic date and small groups of all ages including tourists.
The décor is simple and very casual as the focus is on the treats. Sit by the large window where you can people watch as you are enjoying your food or in the corner alone with your sweetie.
To start off your sweet adventure, be sure to try one of their specialty drinks – teas (selection of green, black, herbal, floral, and chai), bubble tea (available flavored milk, green and black tea, and slush with dairy free options), or a fruit smoothie made to order to your liking. The most popular is the flavored bubble tea drink with tapioca bubbles. Then splurge on their yummy desserts or get your hand ready for some chocolate dipping. Just for under $10 per person (with taxes and tip) you can enjoy dipping your favorite seasonal fruit (melons, pineapple, strawberries etc…) and other sweet treats in the melted chocolate Belgium fondue. You will also notice that the fondues at Capstone are all you can eat.
Try something out of the ordinary! Consider their new concept of ice cream chocolate fondue. Here you get six scoops of flavored ice cream to dip into this dark decadent sauce.
If chocolate and sweets is not your thing, be sure to indulge in dipping bread and vegetables into Capstone’s savory cheese fondue. Or enjoy both fondues for a nice light meal.
This is a nice romantic rendezvous sharing a fondue (savory or sweet) with your Date or few good friends especially after shopping along the Robson Street.
Things to note:
- Parking can be challenge since it is downtown. Be sure to check out the neighbourhood for any free spots designated for non-residential parking. Otherwise there are plenty of pay parking along Robson Street.
- There some restrictions with the fondue – regular must have a table with min. with a drink purchase 2 persons otherwise they offer mini chocolate fondue for one. Be sure to inquire ahead or with the server.
